L9: Traditional Leadership vs Persuadable Leadership
In traditional leadership, leaders are praised for being confident, consistent, and being 100% loyal to their beliefs. While, it is definitely a strength to be confident and consistent, it can also lead to stubbornness, and prevent leaders from being open to new perspectives.
There is another alternative to traditional leadership, and it has to do with the concept of persuadability. This concept was introduced by Al Pittampalli.
Al Pittampalli is a leadership expert, who consults companies like NASA, Hewlett Packard and Abbot Labs. He is an author of two books on leadership that combine research and storytelling to help individuals and organizations adapt to a fast changing world.

So, what is persuadability? It is a genuine willingness to change your mind in the face of data and good reasons, and as well as other perspectives different from your current ones.
