L13: Good News!

THE GOOD NEWS:

As you might have guessed already, it is very much possible to shift your mindset to the growth side even if you might fall on the fixed mindset side presently, but the question is how to make that shift possible.

Throughout the Fellowship, you may have noticed we have been talking about Growth Mindset through our Principles of Progress in one way or another. When we talked about Amal, we said that it's best to take the initiative and do something, and learn through the process. Someone with a Growth Mindset looks at goals and objectives in the same way. Instead of waiting for the best opportunity to present itself, those with a Growth Mindset create the opportunity.

Similarly, when we talked about Khudi, we said that it is important to know about yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses knowing that you can always improve on them. A person with a Growth Mindset always thinks they can improve by putting in the effort. They don't let their circumstances hold them back, and they are open to all avenues of self-improvement, including learning new things, taking feedback and reflecting on their failures to see how they can do better the next time.

We also discussed what it means to practice Kam Kam Kam. We said that a person who exhibits this principle never gives up, always focuses on their goals and is not afraid to work hard and sacrifice to achieve them. Similarly, a person with a Growth Mindset knows that nothing can be achieved without hard work, dedication and sacrifice.

Finally, we talked extensively about Ek aur Ek Gyarah, and the role of your peers, friends, co-workers and network in helping you achieve greatness. We talked about the role of providing and taking effective feedback in teamwork. the same way, a person with a Growth Mindset isn't afraid of getting feedback and doesn't get defensive against it. Such a person knows the value of feedback in improving themselves and their abilities no matter who it comes from.
